Write for us

We welcome clear, original pitches that help readers understand a specific part of association football. Proposals should make a precise promise, explain the angle and show why the subject deserves more than a quick match recap.

What we are looking for

Pitch explainers, comparisons, historical context, close readings of a match pattern, or useful guides to watching a particular kind of play. Strong proposals stay focused on one question and explain the trade-offs rather than claiming one tactic always works.

What to include

Tell us the working title, central question, intended reader and main points you would cover. Note any sources or examples you expect to use, and disclose relevant commercial interests. Do not send unpublished confidential material or claim access you cannot substantiate.

How to send a proposal

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please do not submit a complete article unless requested.
